Would you say flowers, a kiss on a cheek, a Mother's day card, or something else?
What would be the best present for a mom on Mother's day?
I think mothers day is an important day, because with out your mum you wouldn't be here, so here's a site that will help you decide.
Reply:Flowers and take her out for a nice lunch. That's what I'm going to do.
Reply:Mother's day is over but here's my two cents anyway.
Taking your mom out for lunch just you and her or even all her kids, and you all pitch in for the lunch and for a flowers or even a gift, she will love that.
Reply:Going out to eat, vases of flowers or containers of live plants, candy or bath items seem to be the most popular gifts to give Mom - but is it because she really loves them, or because you don't know what else to give on Mother's Day?
Take a hint from other gift giving occasions and don't get stuck in a rut.
Give a gift of time for Mother's Day. Make a promise and keep it, to spend a day with your mother, doing whatever she enjoys, whether that's baking, garage saling or sky diving! Let it be her day, and let her choose which day it is, within reason.
A busy mother often lacks time for herself. She dreams about being able to take walks alone, stay in the shower more than 2 minutes and finish the book she started when you were born! Giving the gift of time isn't so hard. What it means is that you take over some chores or a day's worth of chores or watch younger siblings to allow her to do whatever she wants to do.
She doesn't need to go anywhere (unless she wants to), or do anything special... just whatever she wants to do.
A clean house! This is another "take over the chores" type of gift, but with a twist. Having a clean house makes anyone feel good, so give a hand made gift certificate for cleaning time at her request. Make eight (or however many hours' worth you want to give) boxes on the certificate (or individual certificates) and in each one write "1 Hour." She can choose whether she wants an hour a day for eight days, a full day's work, or an hour or two here and there. What could make a homemaker happier?
Kids can make just about anything and Grandma will appreciate it, but if you think it would be nice to go a little further, ask your kids if they'd like to take Grandma (and maybe Grandpa) on a picnic. They can make sandwiches and fruit drinks and spread the picnic table with a cloth, presenting it just for her.
If that doesn't fit, and your kids are old enough, they can do a one time job for her, like cleaning out a storage shed or washing and waxing her car. Washing windows on the house, or doing other heavy house cleaning are other possibilities.
If the kids make artwork or write poems, present them in a frame to make them even more special.
Flowers are appreciated by anyone who isn't allergic to them, but you don't have to buy an expensive bouquet if you have a few flowers growing in your yard. If you don't, gather a wildflower bouquet and put it in a thrift store vase. Vases don't "wear out" so there is no need of buying them new - ever.
Moms, probably more than anyone else, appreciate hand made and personalized gifts from their children, whether their children are toddlers or adults with their own children (and grandchildren!). Mother's Day is a great excuse to be creative and frugal without being cheap! Whatever your craft, with a little care you can make it for less than upi can buy it.
Reply:flowers or some kind of a card
Reply:all of your choices would be a good present for mom.for me, being a good son or daughter, a good student and being together on mothers' day or everyday would be the best present ever.
Reply:Something homemade. What do you do well? You could bake her a pie. You could write a poem and put it in a nice frame (that would make me cry). Paint or sculpt something. Make a scrapbook of your favorite photos with her or a collage of them. If you live near a big art and craft store, they often have lessons about jewlery making. Or sometimes I see these places where you can go paint and glaze ceramics and they'll fire them for you. You can do that and put some flowers in it. That would be sweet!
Reply:Your presence is the best gift even though it is now after the fact. I would rather spend time with my children than have them bring something they had to buy. We just try to get together and eat a whole lot. (Even though I have been asking them to wash my windows for about 3 years as a MD gift, they are still dirty. I don't know how much longer I will wait on them.
Reply:I'm a mother %26amp; I would appreciate anything my son gave me.
Although a real treat would be if he did all the cooking %26amp; washing up for the day.
Reply:A personalized hand-made card made by you, flowers, and maybe a necklace or other peice of jewelery.
Reply:i would say a card, kiss on the cheek and do some chores around her house just to help out. let her rest while you do it with out complaing
Reply:no one deserves a break more than mom does.
let her sit back and relax. other family members can handle her chores for that day. give her a luxurious treat... something like a nice dinner, gift her something she likes most...
u r the daughter, u will know better her choices.
above all, (atleast for one day) ask all urfamily members to be 'the perfect family'
i am sure she will like it more than any other gift.
good luck!
P.S. mothers day is gone now, maybe u can try it for her birthday or for the next year.
Reply:ALL THIS AND LOT MORE, THE PRESENT FOR MOM IS UNLIMITED FOR THE JOY WE DERIVE FOR JUST HAVING US
Reply:just spend time with her, thats all that counts
Reply:make her anything from your heart, i prefer when my kids make soething instead of buying it, it is full of love, made with love and given with love, not just bought with love.
Reply:a little note from the heart...my son always writes me a little poem...he has done it since he was 6 (started of with Roses are Red)...now he is 17 and they are very special
Reply:A promise necklace or ring that says mom and yours says daughter.
Reply:Flowers is good...maybe cook dinner or breakfast for her... something pretty like a little glass figurine or something that says "I love you mom" - I got a necklace once that said that. If you're creative, make your own card, it's more special.
Reply:The best present for a Mom is always your love. The fact that you have remembered Mother's Day will be a good start, and a kiss is nice.
I think Mother's Day has become very commercialised. The heart of the matter is that it is a day to think about your mom and appreciate her.
I have to be honest though and say that as the mom of teenage sons, I do like a card and flowers too....it depends on the age of your child...I have kept all my children's cards that they made themselves.
I know a guy in his 50s whoss mom still does his washing and makes him Sunday lunch, and he doesn't buy her anything, and I do think that's mean...but everyone is different, gifts mean different things to different people.
The thought is always more important than the amount of money spent.
Reply:I always loved the items that said #1 mom...or your the greatest mom....a charm or a coffee mug...anything that says your the greatest has to make her special and she can look at it for years to come.
Reply:Tell her you love her and she is a great mother. And show her that you care about her then get her a carnation (flower) then give her the most respect that you could possibley give her. that is what i did and she had a good day
Reply:Do some house work for her. Make her a card or something like that.
