I received a beautiful hanging basket for mother's day, but no i.d. card came with it?

I need to know how to take care of it AND is it possible to grow a new plant from it next season? My husband thinks it's called a fushia? The round buds that open up are a beautiful dark pink with a white flower and has pink stemlike (sorry, don't know what they're called)tendrils coming out of the center. Sorry not a very good description, hope someone can help. Thanks

This is my favourite shrub as it is so easy to grow, has hundreds of varieties and you can do most things with it, even make a hedge!Fuschias can be hardy or tender depending on the type that you have. As a general rule, the fancier the flower, the more tender (likely to be killed by frost) the plant. Ideally you should keep fuschias in a greenhouse or at least protected from frost over the winter. If you want them to start growing early in the season, put them in the sun but make sure that you dont forget about them if frost is due.

All being well, the Fuschia will grow for many years. It is actually a shrub rather than a plant.

Below is a great site for all the information you will need.

The second site is all about Bonsai Fuschias, there are some beautiful mini-trees here.

The third site is Swedish and contains many photos of the different types of Fuschia.
Reply:Your description does sound like a fuscia. It will come back next year if tended well this year. Ask about them at your local garden store.

I think it's really neat that someone thinks of you as a MOM in their life, even though you may not be their bio-mom. Enjoy the plant %26amp; knowing that you've made such a beautiful impact on someone's life!
