As a mom, does it upset you when your children don't send a card for Mother's Day?

Mine usually call me. I know they care for me and that is really all that matters. No cards needed.

I do not need a card. A call is ok, as it is just a silly holiday, really. No need for the pressure that comes with having to stop for a card, or anything else for that matter.

My kids and I adore each other, and that is my gift all year
Reply:I have two sons I never hear from. Their father (good preacher/teacher/counselor) molested them and we divorced 30 years ago. One son is 42 and I haven't seen him since he was 18. The other son and his girlfriend and their two children lived with us for a time. Then he stole several things from my second husband and me so he stayed away after that. All that was heartbreaking but eventually I gave them to God and I have peace about it because I know I was a very good mother. I have a wonderful daughter and a great son-in-law and their five sweet children. ALL my grandchildren are close to me and that tells me a lot. The exgirlfriend drives 500 miles to spend time with us and we go to her home at least once or twice a year. I will have a wonderful Mothers Day with my family and praise God for them.
Reply:What if the mother doesn't care...will she still expect a card? Should she get one?
Reply:I am a son, not a mother but I have a statement to this effect (you can quote me if you like):

"If you only think of your mother on Mothers Day, then perhaps you should consider sending her a sympathy card instead..."

Reply:Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I took the girls to the Mall and Gave them the credit card and told them to be nice to their Mother because she makes me happy.
Reply:I try not to let Hallmark tell me how to enjoy my life. With that said, if you don't send me a card this year, Ima gonna get you. Just remember that I brought you into this world, and I can take you back out. :)
Reply:I feel the same way, although I did get a card this year (color me pleasantly surprised.) I know my kid cares, she doesn't have to send me a card.
Reply:No it dont. But he is only sixteen, maybe when hes older it might. I dont remember thinking of things like that when I was a teenager.
Reply:As my youngest daughter is working on Mother's Day, we celebrated last Sunday. On Mother's Day, I just want to relax and do what I want to do. All of the holidays are just another day(s) of work for me and I'm tired.

Yes, my children get me cards. I tell them not to get me any gifts because there isn't anything I need and I want them to save their money.
Reply:It's pretty upset
Reply:I have one daughter who makes me a card every year and now she has 6 children who each make me one. I love it. My son on the other hand buys me a card sometimes. Anyone can pick up a card and send it but home made cards are the ones I keep and truly like. Yes, I would be a little upset if I never got any at all but as long as I know they love me and I love them that is all the truly matters.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
Reply:My answer to that one is ,that maybe they werent shown corectly how to value their mothers,i have been married for almost 13years and my husband has NEVER once just taken the kids to buy me a gift or sat them down to make me a picture(thank goodness for school)that the only time i recive any thing from them. But every b-day fathers day and just becauses i have shown them to deeply value their father.HECK i have never had a birthday party.
