He raised me and I buy him one every year.......but people at work were telling me that they thought it was weird.
Would you buy your Dad a Mother's Day card?
i think that it's pretty cool to do that.yes it is different but it also says how you feel and he will totally understand.
Reply:Go take a bath...
Reply:Well.. he raised you.. but wouldn't Father's Day be a bit more appropriate?
I mean, I'm all for doing things differently, so I think it's great.
I wouldn't do it, though - my mum raised me.
Reply:No if my Dad was still alive I would buy him a Father's day card but never a Mother's day card.
Reply:No I wouldn't
Reply:No, but I buy my mom a father's day card.
Reply:in that situation it only seems right
Reply:Umm yeah I guess so. Since he was both your mother and father then yeah. I think a thank you twice a year is actually a good idea since he did twice the job! Eh...don't worry about people at work they think it's weird because it's different.
Reply:That's so thoughtful of you - I'm sure he loves that you make the effort to appreciate his "mothering" you. I can't imagine how anyone could think this is weird - I thinks it's an amazingly wonderful thing to do.
Reply:LOL HECK NO HE WILL PROBABLY SAY WHAT WILL I DO WITH THIS?
Reply:Sure., If he's the only parent that has raised me. You know, maybe they should invent a Father's Day card for Mother's Day because some people don't have both parents. They only have a mother or a father. And the same goes for Mother's Day. They should invent a Father's Day Card for Mother's on Mother's Day. I think that would be really nice to have.
Reply:If he was there for you as both parents, sure.
Reply:Nope. I have friend who gets a Father's Day card from her daughter because she raised her.
Reply:I buy my mom a fathers day gift every year she was both mom and dad.......... or may you could just tell them he's a mother f**ker lol sorry dont mean to offend ya dad!
Reply:makes since to me.
Reply:Probably not! But on Father's Day, I would surely make a big deal out of that day and on that day, I would also make a point of letting him know how special he is to also have raised me not only as my Dad but also did the job of my Mom and how much that meant to me. I'd make Father's Day an Extra Special Day for him and tell him that is because he took the place of both of his parents and that you will always remember and always appreciate that and will always love him. :o)
Reply:If you only had one parent - of course !! They do it all !
great question - have a star from me
Reply:N0
Reply:Sure, why not? I never do that for my mom, even though she is a single parent. Seems like a good idea to me, I wouldn't let the people at work change your mind. I bet your dad really appreciates it.
Reply:yes i would if i was in your situation...do u buy him both? my friend is a single mom and i used to buy her a fathers day card because she was the best mother and father to her daughter...u r not weird and yr dad is very lucky
Reply:im a single dad whose raising a daughter shes given me mothers day gifts theres nothing wrong with it
Reply:You bring up a good point. That IS a nice thing to do for a dad who was both parents to you.
Reply:I bought my dad a "happy birthday mom" card once! Who cares what people at work think. Bums and streetwalkers should not be judging you. At least you know who your dad is and speak to him. The bum that lives in the underpass down the street from me doesn't even call his mother. Jerk.
Reply:I think it's sweet... as long as you get him a GIFT for Father's Day....it's not weird at all... maybe those clown at work are just JEALOUS because you obviously have very close relationship with your dad....you are VERY lucky. Don't worr what others think----
