Is this Mother's Day gift too cheap?

I'm 13 and this is the first year that i'm actually getting my mother a gift for Mother's Day.

I'm the only one in my family that' got her a gift, because my father and brother don't value the meaning of Mother's Day. I don't have much money and i don't get allowance.

So i saved up a big portion of my lunch money and bought her:

- a Mother's Day card

- a plush dog (that resembles our pet dog)

- a photoframe with a pic of our family,

- and a cream-colored babydoll cardigan sweater

(since she's always complaining about the cold haha)

The gift is only worth about $30 -$35 in total. It's nicely wrapped and all, but i haven't gotten her anything all these years so i thought that i'd get her more...but i can't really afford it.

At the mall, she mentioned how she liked this sweater (that looked like the one i got her!) so i think she'll like it. And this morning she asked me if i got her anything...and i said, no. So i'm planning to surprise her in the morning.

Is this Mother's Day gift too cheap?
yes you could have gotten her more

unless you are broke
Reply:I don't think the price is important. It's the heart that counts.

My mother once said that one of the best Mother's Day gift she's ever had was a card that I drew her in year 2.

I think your mother would be very happy with this gift. It's very nice of you to plan her a surprise.
Reply:That gift is so sweet and it is even more appealing the amount of love that went into it. That is all that matters. My mom asks for a card every year, it simply makes her day to read it :). Enjoy the day, she will too.
Reply:I am a mom and I believe you did more than most people. You really got her a lot of gifts. You didn't have to buy her anything though, to show how much she is appreciated. You could have done some house work or something else around the house to help her. That right there means a lot.!!
Reply:That sounds like the sweetest thing ever. You went above and beyond. Not only did you make a sacrifice of your money, you picked out sweet, heartfelt gifts. Your mother will be completely astounded that you noted that she liked that sweater, and then went and bought it! And there is little more special than a picture in a nice frame. That is probably one of the sweetest presents you could give a mom.

My only suggestion for tomorrow, to round it all out, would be to not allow your mom to do any work tomorrow. If you can, enlist your brother and father to help you with the cooking, cleaning, etc. This will make your mom so incredibly happy, just the thought alone will move her.

You sound like a very sweet, thoughtful girl, and your mom is lucky to have a daughter like you!
Reply:I am a mom, and I would cry with happiness if my 13 year old daughter got me that much!! I would know how hard it was for her to save up that money, not to mention not eating lunch, just to get me something. Now that is a true act of love!!!
Reply:you cant nor should you try to make up for years of not gifting. your gift sounds wonderful. you are doing more for your mom than i am this year. i think she will like it, its the thought that counts epsecially when no one else has gotten her a gift.
Reply:Didn't you ask this question yesterday? I think your mother will love it. Just the fact you went to trouble is enough for any mom. Your gifts are thoughtful and they are things your mom can use. She can't help but think they are terrific.
