What type of gift should I give my mom for Mother's Day?

I can't relate to every Mother's Day card, quote, or poem. I mean I love my mother but just not quite as much everybody else I guess. I distance myself from my mom as much as possible because she drives me crazy. Guilt trip after guilt trip and shes always complaining about someone or something. Anyway, I know I should get her something I am just having a hard time coming up with something thoughtful but not too thoughtful.????? Do you know??????

What type of gift should I give my mom for Mother's Day?
This is a really beautiful poem!

Women have strengths that amaze us.

They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up for injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without new shoes so their children can have them.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!

Women do more than just give birth.

They bring joy and hope.

They give compassion and ideals.

They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

Reply:Well, a thoughtful gift indicates that you pay attention to her - what she wants and needs. I'm not big on giving cards, but I do keep a list of possible presents for my family. If it comes to mind, I save it in a hidden file on my computer throughout the year.

So, for your mom, I would suggest that you get her something that you know that she will appreciate, that will put a definite smile on her face, or something that she can personally use that will make her life so much easier. That would show thoughtfulness.

For example, my mom loves Lemon Supreme Baker Square pies - a gift certificate there is ALWAYS appreciated or better yet, giving her the actual pie so that she doesn't have to go get it. She loves to play free games online - so on my list is a subscription to a game she loves so that she can really "level up." My brother got my mom a Seurat poster that was one of his most famous paintings - only because he remembered her talking about that Seurat was her favorite artist %26amp; how going to the Art museum and seeing that painting was a significant moment in her life.

Take a moment and some quiet time by yourself. Think about those "mom complaints" and rambling conversations - maybe there's some tool or product that would lessen one of those complaints. Maybe there's something that will bring back a memory long lost. Maybe there's something that only SHE would appreciate. Think about her daily routine and how she goes about her life. Get lost in the brainstorm.

Lastly, think of your budget.

Good Luck!
Reply:How about a gift certificate. They're inpersonable and doesn't take any effort in picking out. A really good gift would to stop being distant to your mom, at least for that day and try to improve your relationship.
Reply:Gift certificate:

spas

restaurants

stores

malls
Reply:I've always gotten my mother flowers to start with a nice big colorful bouquet always works. You might wanna ask yourself what your mom is interested in or what she spends alot her tiime doing during the day. For example my mother is a housewife and we always looked to see what new kitchen gadgets there were because she spends most of her time in the kitchen and she loves to have them. But now that she has everything in the kitchen that she wants we go for something more for her like perfume, or a very beautiful shawl. When you give them something they can use and benifit from they appreciate more than something that gets displayed. Unless there is an old treasured picture that you both share, you could enlarge or just buy a personalized picture frame which would remind her that you really do care deep down inside no matter what goes on everyday. I hope this really helped you out?
