I am trying to find a good poem to put inside a card for my kindergaten class to give to their mother's. Any good ideas? If it helps... the area is primarily hispanic but we are not allowed to speak spanish to our students. The poem has to be in English but easy enough for the students to read to their parents since some are illiterate.
Mothers day poem.?
I thank you for the birth of me
for the simple ways you care,
wish I could give you the world mom
but it is only me to share.
happy mothers day
Reply:You have better things to do than reinvent the wheel. Go to your drugstore card section and copy one.
Reply:Just have them put a heart inside.
Everyone should understand that.
Reply:Crayons are red
Markers are blue
When I am at school
I only think of you.

Reply:Try this one. I am not a professional, but what the heck, short and easy. M is for mommy, the
One who loves
Me
And that spells Mom!
Good luck, and may you find a "Casa de oro"!
Reply:here...
Before I Was Myself, You Made Me, Me
Before I was myself you made me, me
With love and patience, discipline and tears,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,
Allowing me to sail upon my sea,
Though well within the headlands of your fears.
Before I was myself you made me, me
With dreams enough of what I was to be
And hopes that would be sculpted by the years,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,
Relinquishing your powers gradually
To let me shape myself among my peers.
Before I was myself you made me, me,
And being good and wise, you gracefully
As dancers when the last sweet cadence nears
Bit by bit stepped back to set me free.
For love inspires learning naturally:
The mind assents to what the heart reveres.
And so it was through love you made me, me
By slowly stepping back to set me free.
